Eric S. Tiedemann, 1966-2008

By 2000, space bar and vrave had outgrown the chat server software that they were built on, and it wasn't unusual for space bar to crash a dozen times a day. Eric S. Tiedemann, or est, was the phenomenally talented software developer who rewrote the server software and brought stability to the community. His effort made it possible for space bar to keep connecting old friends and new on into the 21st century.

He was a kind-hearted, generous and talented person, and the community was a better place with him in it. His untimely death was a tragedy for those who knew him and a loss for those who never had that opportunity. He will be greatly missed.
